Time to meet the family!
I told you I would be updating! Around Thanksgiving, you saw a mere glimpse of our family during our first joint family Thanksgiving! Now, I wanted to introduce you to a wider range of the family, with a little more details!
Introducing...... The Bride's Family.... The Kaelberers
The 411 on the Kaelberer family: 
Beth's family is very small and intimate. Of course, we have our larger, extended family (whom we love very much), but especially this Christmas we were reflecting on how nice it has been to have such a small family. Throughout the years our family has certainly shifted and changed, but the love that we share has been constant. My mom and dad are as in love as ever. On Christmas day they celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary. My dad, Eric, is a pastor at Grace Lutheran Church (the church where Doug & I will be married). My dad is very devoted to his church. Our church people have become some of our very best friends and extended family. My mom, Kawai, is your typical amazing mom. She always manages to make the house warm, provide lots of love and support, and has been a role model for my sister and me. She is proud to be my Hawaiian mama! She works for the Rancho Cucamonga Water Valley District as a customer service representative. She loves her job, her friends, and of course her family. 
My sister, Julia, has been my best friend from the moment she was born! We are only 17 months apart in age. I am the proud older sister of this blond cutie! She is going to be my maid of honor in the wedding. After high school, she quickly left us to pursue her dreams with the Navy. She went the the Naval Academy Prep School and is now in her third year at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. If you ever come to our house or see our cars, you will see these areas adorned in USNA gear. My parents are very proud of us (that's an understatement, right Julia?). Julia's interests include shooting, outdoor events, and hanging out with her friends. I miss her all the time. I am happy to say that Julia hand picked Doug. When she met him my freshman year of college, she pulled me to the side and said "I like him! He should be your boyfrien
d!" Julia always knew what was best for me! I love you sissy! Other members of our family who will be present at our wedding are our grandparents, Bama and Bompy. Julia and I were so blessed to have them around for the crux of our childhood. We call our grandma Bama and we call our grandpa Bompy. They both reside in Washington State now. My Grandpa is a retired N
avy Captain and my grandmother did a number of important jobs, including abortion counseling in San Diego. As I acquire more pictures, I will post more info about my extended family! I cannot wait to see the Hawaiian ohana present! I love you Auntie Allie, Uncle Dwayne, Aunt Kiha, Uncle Jojo, Jo-Kyle, Pi'i, Hea, K'Aloha, Pua, Kelii, Kaulana, Keala, Johnny, and everyone else! The 411 on the Fisher Family: The Fisher family is one of those rare families who goes out of their way to love and sup
port one another. As you round every corner with the Fishers, you find a family who upholds a lot of wonderful intimate traditions. They value one another deeply (and I, Beth, am so blessed to be entering into their family). They have a close knit family as well. While their family is one member larger than the Kaelberer family, they manage to maintain their closeness and keep connections with their larger extended family! Doug's mom and dad are incredibly loving, supportive and as solid as ever! Doug's Dad, Rich, is pretty much the best salesman in the entire world. He works for a very reputable sanding and grinding company called Klingspor. Rich is a people person and one of the wisest men I know. In his spare time he likes to hang out with his family, watch movies, or play a friendly game of poker with very close friends. Doug's mom, Gayle, is also your typical amazing mom. She manages to put
her special touch on everything she touches. She has certainly made our engagement so special and memorable with those touches! I, Beth, remember an e-mail she sent me just shortly after the proposal. She signed "love your new monster-in-law." Well she is the furthest thing from a monster and I am certainly blessed to have her as my soon to be mother-in-law! Gayle works as a paralegal for a law firm in Fremont. In Gayle's spare time she loves going to Kelly's games, making the house extra special, and hangs out with her family. Doug's Brother, Jeff, is the best brother in the entire world. They actually got the opportunity to live together again before the wedding! They are roommates with four other guys in Irvine. Jeff works for UC Irvine in the IT department. Jeff got the opportunity to work for NASA on a large telecommunication project. Jeff is very involved in his church. He is pursuing his masters in Leadership from Vanguard University. Jeff is an excellent brother and an amazing example to 
Doug! Doug's sister, Kelly, is one of a kind. She is witty and beautiful. Kelly is finishing up her second year at Oholone Community College, where she is one of the start basketball players! From there, she will go onto a four year university and will probably continue to be the star basketball player. Beth is proud to have her as one of her bridesmaids! Kelly and Doug have a very special relationship. They love to punk around with each other, but it's all in deep love. In Kelly's spare time she likes to hang out with her friends and play basketball.Doug's family is pretty darn amazing. Outside of his immediately family he has a larger and wonderful extended family. His extended family on the Wright side is comprised of Grandpa & Grandma Wright (Bob & Joan), The Calamias (Angelo, Karen, Fran & Juli), The Haneys (Jim, Meg, Ben & Matt), and the C
aberdillas (Steve, Val, Nick, Stevie, Chris, and Melissa). On the Fisher side the extended family includes Dave & Jeanne Fisher, Joy, James & Ashley Kreiss, Joel Fisher, Greg & Lara Fisher and so many more people! Included below are some pictures of both sides of the extended fa

Hello Family & Friends!
Now that invitations have gone out, I thought it would be time to consistently update! Make sure you check in, as I will post many updates, memories, and stories of the past & present. As many of you know, I am a very EXCITED bride-to-be. Before I share some fun Christmas memories, I thought Id share a little bit of what Doug and I been up to getting ready for the big day! We pretty much have everything in motion for the wedding and HOW SWEET IT IS!!!! We cannot wait for the big day! Im sure all of you have heard someone say "most girls have been planning their dream wedding since the time that they were four." I would honestly have to say that through this process, my dream wedding has been a work in progress, rather than a perfectly planned and scripted masterpiece crafted from the age of four. I was talking with my college best friend/roommate Annie a month ago about the wedding planning. Doug & I would have probably pictured our wedding being very small, no more than 40 people. As you will see at the wedding, there is no way that we could achieve this with so many people that we know and love. We couldnt imagine starting our lives as a married couple without all of you present. So Annie was talking to me about all the stresses of a wedding. She was a little worried that Doug and I were getting married a little too fast and that I wasnt getting everything I wanted (good ol Annie... she always has been very over protective). Doug and I probably should have set the date for January or February, instead of March. Lol. We are so ready to be married, but of course, good things to come those who wait (but I digress). I just remember saying to her "This is going to be my dream wedding because I am going to be marrying Doug." Its like when he went to pick out my ring. I did not go with him. We barely even talked about the ring, style, cut and all the goes into a woman's dream ring. In spite of this, Doug managed to go into the depths of my soul and exceeded my expectations. I couldnt have picked out a more perfect ring myself. You see, every girl does have a picture of what she wants, but it is a general picture. The blurry faced man in my dreams now has a face. I wouldnt want to have a wedding that I have been dreaming about since I has four. It seems little generic. Thus, I see it just like Doug picking out an engagement ring catered only for me, only for my deepest dreams. Our wedding is turning out the same way, catered to OUR desires and OUR dreams, not just mine. I have to say that I am so proud of Doug. Most men become non-existent in the planning process. Doug has had his hand in every decision. He has had his phone on 24-7 to make sure he can answer any of my questions, calm my fears, and simply say he loves me. :) He has been so patient with my anal-renetive, OCD nature. This wedding is truly turning into the wedding of my dreams! With 63 days left, I feel at peace. Im excited to be the future Mrs. Fisher. I am so happy that most of you reading this will be present on our special day! Most of the big plans have already been done, it's all a matter of waiting out the time! Of course we couldnt have all of the planning without Doug's big planning! He asked me to marry him on Friday, November 9th. I will retell this story later. ::Asking the girls to be my Bridesmaids:: ____________________________________________________________________ 
I am so thankful to have such wonderful friends! I am going to have four bridesmaids. Doug will have three groomsmen. He really has four, but his 4th, Drew Heim, will be on a stint in Australia! We will miss you Drew. In a couple of posts, look for pictures of my bridesmaids and the day we went bridesmaid dress shopping! Here's some pictures of me making cards asking them to be my bridesmaids! I immediately started crafting my dreams 
and these cards! Doug asked me to marry him on Friday. We spend a wonderful weekend together calling family and soaking in our joy. After he left to go back to Irvine, I got out my scrapbooking supplies and made these cards! I have to admit, the craft part of this has been so much fun! Too bad Gayle (Doug's mom) didnt have her craft shed now! Could you imagine what we could get done in there? Enjoy these pics!
::Picking out the Invitations:: ________________________________________________________
You all should have received them! The day before Kelly and Julia flew in to pick out the bridesmaids' dresses, Doug and I went to a number of places to find the perfect invitations that matched our tastes. After visiting a number of different specialty st
ores, we ended up at Michaels. Now for those of you who know Doug, it is quite the daunting task to get Doug into a craft store! He was such a sport as we went down the aisles searching for our invitations! Finally, we found the ones you received. During Christmas weekend, I ended up assembling about three hundred invitations! I hope that all of you will save and cherish those invitations (dont be surprised if I come to your house and ask to see them...j/k).
And of course there is so much more that goes into the planning! We are so excited that you will be there! 64 more days until the big day! Stay tuned for more updates, memories and stories! Next to come...... Holiday memories and MEET THE FAMILY!!!!!!!!!

Now that you have received your save-the-date e-mail and first newsletter update, we will provide you with our first item of business: registry! For those of you who know Doug, he can take about a minute of shopping and then he is horribly bored. I am sure that my best crafted "Doug's Shopping Entertainment" bag wouldnt have lasted the daunting task of registry. So, after much discussion and debate on registry, Doug left it up to me to register. We decided that we would only register for the essentials and then ask that people give gift certificates or *cough*cash. If you notice on the links to the left, we put Living Spaces Furniture as a sight for gift certificates. We have picked out a couch, bed, and dining room set that we liked from that store. If you find that most of the essentials have already been purchased, feel free to purchase a gift card from Living Spaces! Unfortunately you cannot purchase the gift cards online or by phone. There are two locations in southern california where you can purchase the gift cards (one in Rancho Cucamonga and La Mirada). You can view the specific location on the website below. Meet the Parents: Thanksgiving Weekend Blessings!

Once again, HAPPY THANKSGIVING Family & Friends!
MEET THE PARENTS:: That is MEET THE DREAM PARENTS!
Friends, it's time to "meet the parents!" Doug and I are so insanely blessed to have such amazing families! The movies are so far from the truth when portraying the joining of two families through the act of marriage. We are in awe of how wonderful the Thanksgiving weekend was. My mom's quote of the past two nights have been "What a wonderful family. You are so blessed to be marrying into this family!" I would have to agree! On Thanksgiving day, Gayle, Rich, Kelly, and Jeff greeted us with hugs. We all sat down and chatted away. Doug's Grandma & Grandpa Wright (and the new addition to their family, sissy) came shortly after we arrived. The house was buzzing. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. Gayle slaved away in the kitchen to prepare a perfect Thanksgiving feast. No special and delicate touch was spared. Everything was present, a moist turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, stuffing, candied yams, and so much more. During the middle of dinner Doug made the announcement to our family about our big wedding date! As many of you have read below, WE ARE TYING THE KNOT ON SUNDAY, MARCH 3rd, 2008! We couldn't imagine truly starting to think about the day without the love and support of our family! From before we got engaged, it was really our families who stood behind us, pushed for us, and loved us, both as individuals and as a couple! We are so excited to celebrate our wedding day with the ones that we deeply love! It was nice to be able to celebrate our engagement as one whole family (Julia, you were and always are in my heart)! I will forever be indebted to my parents & Jeff for making our engagement night so special! Doug & I love you all so much. It was that much more special when Gayle whipped out some "Bride", "Groom", "Best Man," and even "Maid of Honor" champagne glasses (Julia Gayle was thinking about you). Rich and my dad, Eric, made some very touching toasts. I was brought to tears. Grandma Wright & Gayle gave me the traditional tea cups to celebrate our engagement! Looking over at my mom, seeing the love, pride, and joy in her face was priceless. I could see my dad beaming with joy. Man, I cant wait til he walks me down the aisle! As I sat there, looking at Kelly, my future sister-in-law & bridesmaid, with a bunch of bridesmaids dresses magazines next to her, made me have a flash of the day that I will pick out my gown with my mother. I am so blessed to be loved so deeply and richly by my own family and by my "new" family! Just when we thought our special evening was over, Gayle prepared a lovely dessert for us. She surprised us with a traditional Hawaiian wedding cake! My mom and I were in heaven! What an amazing Thanksgiving! Thank you God for this beautiful family.
The day after Thanksgiving the Fishers took us on an exclusive tour of San Francisco. Before we romped around the outskirts of the city and the city itself, we made a much anticipated stop at "El Patio." Doug & I always debate which Mexican restaurant has the best food. I am sure we will contest this for years to come! We then piled into the van and droved towards San Francisco. Originally we had planned to go by and see the huge Christmas tree in Union Square. Gayle & Rich then found out that my mom had never seen the Golden Gate Bridge and had to remedy this problem. Rich took us to the Presido. The views of the bridge were amazing. We were able to see some old military grounds (made my dad so happy) and so much more. Rich is the best tour guide! We then moved onto Fort Point. The view was spectacular. Doug had said that he probably had never seen a more beautiful day in San Francisco than today. We hope you enjoy the slideshow above! In those pictures, there are a few moments that I know I will remember forever. There is a shot of Doug & my daddy in the sun as it was beginning to set. It is a little bit overexposed, but it sends an ethereal blur and my heart simply said, "Man, do I love these two men!" Another great shot is the one of my mom, Gayle, and me! I am so excited to have Gayle as my mother-in-law! I AM SOOO BLESSED!!!!! So to make a long story short, we had a pretty amazing day together!
As I wrap up this blog on the Thanksgiving weekend with the two families, I wanted to give a few shout-outs! So to my Mom, Dad, and Julia: I love you so much! You have made me who I am. You have taught me what it means to love and truly love others. I am so proud to be your daughter/sister. I cannot wait to share in all of the planning & excitement of the wedding (and of course, Doug & my married life) with you! Thank you for praying for me from before I was a mere sparkle in your eyes. Julia, you will always be my best BEST friend. I have known you as long as you have been alive and I will forever cherish and love you!
Gayle, Rich, Jeff, and Kelly- You have NO CLUE how incredibly excited I am to OFFICIALLY become a part of the family. I couldnt ask for more perfect in-laws. From the moment I have met you, you have welcomed me into your lives. I know that we truly have something special. Grandma & Grandpa Fisher would truly be proud. I promise to try to love you the way that you have loved them! WOW what an amazing example we have to live by!
Grandma & Grandpa Wright- You two are so special to us! We are so blessed to have shared this day and so many others with you. We will always look forward to rumbling games of hand and foot. Grandma Wright, as Doug always says, you and I are soul mates! We will always share a very special bond! I love you and I am excited to be a part of your family!
Well thanks for listening to the shout outs. We have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow. The Fishers are taking us to the ever famous EL PATIO and then to Union Square to see the big Christmas Tree. I will cherish this time forever. We hope that you enjoy these memories as much as we enjoy making them! Happy Thanksgiving. May God bless you all.
